Practical Clarity Grading of loose and mounted diamonds (use of microscopes, loupes, tweezers and pinpointers)

Color Grading Workshop (non–fancy colors) (7 hours)

2.  Master sets.
3.  Color grading and environment.
4.  Fluorescence and color.
5.  Color and diamond value.

Part II

Practical Color Grading
1.  Fluorescence grades

3.  Color grading of mounted diamonds using master set.
4.  Color estimation of loose and mounted diamonds.

Introduction to Diamond Plotting


Part I

1.  External blemishes and their relation to clarity and make of diamonds.
2.  Internal imperfections.
3.  Key to symbols.
4.  "Map" of diamond.
5.  Rules of plot.

Part II

Practical diamond plotting.

Practical Diamond Workshop (3 hours)

Practical Refreshing Course.

1.  Table and depth estimation of mounted diamond (Use of table gauge and leverage gauge).
2.  Loose diamond weight estimation by formula. (Use of leverage gauge).
3.  Color grading of loose diamond (Use of CZ master set).
4.  Fluorescence of diamonds.

Advanced Workshop (8 hours)

Diamond Simulants and Diamond Treatments.


Part I

1.  Diamond Simulants (YAG, GGG, CZ, White Sapphires, Synthetic Moissanite)
2.  Clarity enhancements (FF, LD, ILD)
3.  Color enhancements (Coating, Irradiation, Annealing, HTHP, other)

Part II

1.  Identification of simulants.
2.  Identification of clarity enhancements.
3.  Identification of color enhancements.

Certificate of Completion awarded after each workshop.
